National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Superintendent Paul Michel (right) has a conversation with U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Region 5 Deputy Regional Forester Ron Ketter (left) and USDA Forrest Service’ Sherry Tune in between observing focus groups during the America’s Great Outdoors Initiative (AGO) Monterey Bay Pilot Area Focus Session in the City of Watsonville’s Civic Plaza in California, on Friday, June 17, 2011. Federal and state resource management agencies came together to identify partnership opportunities and determine actions for protection and enhancement of water quality and publicize voluntary stewardship in the watersheds that drain into the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. This area includes the counties of San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, San Benito, Monterey, and San Luis Obispo. Key questions identified existing multi-county or multi land use partnerships; what is not being done; possible partnerships – collective resources to maximize the benefits to natural resources and communities; and additional resources that organizations can bring to maximize AGO. Manfred Kock: Was Glocken mir bedeuten.
Manfred Kock studierte an der Kirchlichen Hochschule Bethel in Bielefeld, an der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität Münster und an der Eberhard Karls Universität in Tübingen evangelische Theologie. Von 1961 bis 1962 war er wissenschaftlicher Assistent an der Kirchlichen Hochschule in Bethel. Nach dem Vikariat wurde er Pastor im Hilfsdienst in Recklinghausen-Süd, wo er eine erste Pfarrstelle in der Bergarbeitergemeinde Philipp-Nicolai erhielt. Im Oktober 1970 wurde Manfred Kock zum Jugendpfarrer des Evangelischen Stadtkirchenverbandes Köln gewählt und am 5. Januar 1976 in die erste Pfarrstelle der Ev. Kirchengemeinde Bickendorf in Köln eingeführt. Ab 1980 Superintendent des Kirchenkreises Köln-Nord und ab 1988 auch Stadtsuperintendent von Köln, war er zudem von 1988 bis 1992 und nochmals von 1994 bis 1998 Präses der Synode der Evangelischen Kirche der Union (EKU). Nach dem Tode von Peter Beier war Manfred Kock von 1997 bis 2003 Präses der Evangelischen Kirche im Rheinland . Am 5. November 1997 wählte ihn die Synode der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland (EKD) mit 116 von 137 Stimmen auf ihrer Tagung in Wetzlar zum Vorsitzenden des Rates, des 15-köpfigen höchsten kirchenpolitischen Entscheidungsgremiums der EKD. Bischof Wolfgang Huber wurde 2003 Kocks Nachfolger im Amt des EKD-Ratsvorsitzenden.
Schüler, Lehrer und Direktor der HTL Villach empfangen im Bischofshaus in Klagenfurt den Pilgersegen durch Diözesanbischof Dr. Schwarz, Superintendent Mag. Sauer und dem orthodoxen Diakon Simic. Das Pilgerprojekt 2010 führt die Pilgergruppe heuer auf den Heiligen Berg Athos, wo sie die berühmten Klöster und Mönche kennenlernen werden.

Geoffry Allen (the idiosyncratic spelling is his own choice) retires from the Library staff this summer). Armed with a first in Greats from Brasenose, he worked woth printed books in the British Museum and then with manuscripts in the Central African Archives, and came to our library in 1950…Till 1962, he was deputy to the Chief Cataloguer…at the same tim, he bacame the Library’s specialist in early books (a more extensive and more important collection than is often realised) and manuscripts, including such celebrated collections as the papers of JS Mill, E.D Morel, Sidney webb, Lord Beveridge, and Hugh Dalton, on which he has made himself an authority; and he has retained this responsibility, latterly with the title of Keeper of Manuscripts.
